The first full dock rapid prototypes arrived today. While it was nice to see the full design in person, not just on a computer, this set of prototypes suffer from a production defect. We switched prototyping companies and it appears that when they applied the cosmetic finish to parts they ablated some of the material, resulting in less than accurate representation of the computer model. Not the kind of thing you want to find when open a box of several thousand dollars worth of prototypes. Frustrating to say the least. The docks function just fine, but they lack the smooth docking action of the first prototype. This just reemphasises how important it is that final production units meet our tolerance specs.[caption id="attachment_99" align="aligncenter" width="600" caption="Full Henge Docks Prototype"][/caption]
