After buying a Henge Dock our friends over at Flying Paper Software came up with an ingenious solution for ejecting hardware from a MacBook before removal from the dock - unDock!
Time machine is wonderful, but it makes a mobile Mac user cry- waiting for a backup to finish or cancel before we rush to a meeting makes life difficult. unDock adds a simple but critical piece of functionality to your Mac- an "Eject All" shortcut with super powers. When you're ready to go, use either the keyboard shortcut (default: Control-Option-Command-Space) or the menu bar icon to unDock. All removable disks will instantly be ejected.
We've been using unDock for a few weeks now and love it. One neat optional feature is a small icon, like the one seen below, installed on your task bar that allows for single click ejection of all peripherals that need to be removed before a computer is extracted from a Henge Dock. For $0.99 it makes docking and undocking with a Henge Dock that much easier, there's even a free version
to try out. Flying Paper Software's unDock is available currently on the Mac App Store
