We've been busy testing the latest Gravitas samples from our factory and we are so excited about the results that we wanted to share some photos of the progress. These units "Engineering Samples" that are used to test assembly and function so any tweaks can be made before production starts. Once these samples are approved our factory will finish the molds and setup the production line to begin manufacturing. During the development process for the Lightning Gravitas we made some improvements to the design.
While it looks the same on the outside, a lot has happened under the skin. Here's a preview of what we've improved - 1. Even better undocking - The Gravitas has always been about staying put, but we didn't just leave it at "good enough." The total mass of the Lightning Gravitas was upped by about 30% to 1.2kg (~2.54 lb). (That's 20 times more mass than Apple's dock for the iPhone 5c!) 2. More supported devices - The Lightning Gravitas now supports the iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPad Mini, iPad 4th generation. 3. Improved audio capabilities - The Lightning Gravitas converts digital audio from the phone into a stereo analog audio line out. It also automatically switches modes from data/sync capabilities to audio output when an external audio source is plugged into the Gravitas. 4. More developments on the way - We'll have even more Gravitas news over the next month... stay tuned. We plan to notify our preorder customers of the finals specs and release dates soon, so sign up if you haven't already!
